Developed by Chef Darryl Fletcher, otherwise known as Chef D.
Chef Darryl Fletcher first showcased this Red Prince apple recipe on CTV Kitchener-Waterloo’s News at Noon. We think it’s a really fun adaptation of a traditional apple crisp!
2 tbsp butter
5 cups thinly sliced Red Price apples
1 tbsp cinnamon
3/4 cup maple syrup or 1/2 cup brown sugar (your choice!)
1-1/2 cup crumbled corn chips
In a large nonstick fry pan over medium/high heat. Melt butter.
Once melted, add apples and cinnamon and sauté for 3-5 minutes.
Add maple syrup or sugar. Continue to cook for 2 minutes.
Place apple mixture in a greased 9 inch pie pan.
Sprinkle corn chips over top and bake in a preheated 350 oven for 25 minutes.
Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
