Overnight Oats with Red Prince® Apples and Cinnamon

Overnight oats are a no-cook method of making oatmeal. Prep in advance but grab and go when you are ready to enjoy them! We love them topped with Red Prince® apples, and a little maple syrup with cinnamon.

Serves 1

½ cup oats (regular, not quick oats)

½ cup milk of choice (We used unsweetened vanilla almond milk.)

1 tsp – 1 tbsp maple syrup (amount to suit your preference)

½ – 1 tsp cinnamon (amount to suit your preference)

1/3-1/2 chopped Red Prince® apple

1 tbsp chopped nuts or your choice: almonds, walnuts or pecans are all great choices

The night before mix oats, milk, maple syrup, cinnamon in leak proof container (if you plan to travel with this the next day). Stir and top with chopped apple. To prevent the apple browning overnight, push it slightly into the milk.

Cover and refrigerate for a min of 4 hours, or overnight. This can be left for 3 days in the fridge, though the oats will become increasingly soft the longer they are left. If you leave this a long time, you may need to top up the mixture with a little more milk or even yogurt if the oats have absorbed all of the liquid and you find it a little dry.

When ready to eat, stir and top with chopped nuts.
