Top with diced Red Prince apples.
Bake for 8-12 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.
Enjoy!
Make your own meringue:
6 large egg whites
½ tsp vanilla extract
1¼ cup white sugar
Meringue Instructions:
In a clean, dry stainless steel or glass bowl, whip egg whites, until they until they are glossy and smooth. Add in vanilla.
Using 1 – 2 tbsp at a time, slowly incorporate the sugar, beating until the sugar is dissolved. Continue until all the sugar is incorporated and stiff peaks form.
Spread meringue on lined baking sheet and bake on 200°F for 1 hour. Then turn off the oven and leave the meringue inside until cool. This will prevent cracks. You can leave it overnight, if desired.
To assemble, ensure the meringue is cool. Then build your pavlova!
Make your own caramel sauce:
Ingredients:
½ cup packed brown sugar
¼ cup butter
¼ cup cream (we used 35%)
Instructions:
Combine the brown sugar and butter in a saucepan and melt together. Then stir in cream and bring to a light boil. Continue stirring for 2-3 minutes until the mixture is thick. Then enjoy! Store any extra in the fridge and bring to room temperature before serving.
