Red Prince Apple Crescent Rolls

Crescent rolls on white plate with apple peels peaking out from rolls. Crescent rolls are drizzled with honey.

Don’t toss those apple peels! Put them to good use in this easy crescent roll recipe. Red Prince
apple peel adds natural red colour and a nuanced flavour to elevate store bought pastry. Take
your brunch to the next level!

Ingredients:

Peel from 2 Red Prince apples (eat the apples or make applesauce!)

Store-bought crescent roll dough

2 tsp ground cinnamon

2 tsp white sugar

Optional: icing sugar for dusting, or honey or maple syrup to drizzle before serving

Instructions:

Makes 2 – 4 servings

Preheat oven to temperature specified on the store-bought pastry.

Peel 2 Red Prince Apples and roughly chop any large strips of peel.

Lay out crescent roll dough on lined baking sheet.

Generously sprinkle cinnamon & sugar over the dough.

Evenly distribute the Red Prince apple skins, flesh side up on the dough. We recommend you let the peel extend slightly beyond the dough width so it’s visible after baking.

Roll up crescent rolls and bake as directed, likely 12-14 minutes. Best served warm.

Optional: drizzle with honey or maple syrup, or dust with icing sugar just before serving.

Enjoy!
